ASELSAN has delivered another milestone for Türkiye’s “Blue Homeland” strategy. The Hisar-D Air Defense System was tested on board TCG Istanbul, proving its ability to engage naval threats with precision.

Test Proves Naval Integration

The trial took place off Sinop. ROKETSAN’s National Vertical Launch System (MIDLAS) fired a Hisar-D RF missile guided by ASELSAN’s Hisar-D Fire Control System. The CENK 400-N radar detected the target. Then, the AKREP 300-N radar began the engagement. Guidance came through the GÜDÜ 200-MG data link and uplink. Finally, the AGRAS RF seeker secured the interception. The missile struck its target, confirming the full chain of systems worked together.

ASELSAN’s Role in the Success

The demonstration showed ASELSAN’s strength in system integration. Its technologies included the fire control system, the dual data link, the CENK radar, the AKREP radar, and the AGRAS seeker. Each one operated in sync. Together, they created a modern naval air defense shield capable of protecting Türkiye’s warships in contested waters.

“The Blue Homeland has reached a new milestone. With MIDLAS and Hisar-D, our navy proved its ability to neutralize threats using fully national systems. This success demonstrates reliability and our strong culture of cooperation.”

Prof. Dr. Haluk Görgün, President of Defence Industry Agency

Strength for the Blue Homeland

This test reinforces Türkiye’s ability to design and operate advanced defense systems without external support. It also marks ASELSAN’s 50th anniversary, showing how engineering expertise has shaped the nation’s defense sector. The project united several key players including ASELSAN, ROKETSAN, HAVELSAN, and STM under one mission.

“MIDLAS is the steel shield of the Blue and Sky Homeland. Our Hisar-D missile, launched from TCG Istanbul, hit the target with precision. From the seas to space, we strengthen our national security in all domains.”

Murat İkinci, General Manager of ROKETSAN

“National engineering created the Blue Homeland’s iron dome: Hisar-D. From fire control to seeker heads, ASELSAN systems proved their value in this test.”

Ahmet Akyol, General Manager of ASELSAN

Impact on Naval Defense

The firing test from TCG Istanbul is both a technological and strategic achievement. It shows Türkiye’s defense sector can deliver interoperable systems for modern naval combat. Moreover, the test highlights the country’s growing independence in building layered defense against air and missile threats.

By linking radars, data links, seekers, and launchers, Türkiye has built a full naval engagement chain. Few nations can produce such integrated architectures. This positions the Turkish Navy to respond faster, defend stronger, and deter more effectively at sea.
