Independence
Defence Agenda is an independent, English-language publication covering defence and aerospace programmes, industrial capacity, procurement and emerging capability trends. Our editorial decisions are made by our newsroom alone. No advertiser, sponsor, government or commercial partner has any influence over which stories we cover or the conclusions we reach.
Accuracy and verification
We aim to be accurate and fair. Reporting is grounded in verifiable evidence — official statements, primary documents, on-the-record interviews and credible reporting. Where a claim cannot be confirmed, we say so. Significant facts are checked against more than one source wherever possible. Our approach to sources is set out in our Sourcing Policy.
Editorial and commercial separation
Advertising and sponsorship never buy editorial coverage or influence. Any commercially funded material — sponsored articles, partner insight or promoted placements — is clearly and visibly labelled and kept distinct from independent editorial. How we are funded is described in our Ownership & Funding statement.
Fairness and right of reply
When our reporting makes a significant critical claim about an organisation or individual, we seek their response and reflect it fairly. We distinguish clearly between reported fact, analysis and opinion.
Use of technology
Our newsroom is accountable for everything we publish. Where technology, including AI tools, supports our work, it operates under human editorial oversight as described in our AI Use Policy.
Corrections
We correct significant errors promptly and transparently. To report a mistake, see our Corrections Policy or contact us at [email protected].
